pinEdit for Java

Integrate pinEdit as HTML page within an IFrame or as Tag Library (for Struts).

To make it easy for Java developers some client functions are binded to a server class.

Server binding

Server binding means, that the client(browser) calls methods in an adapter class, that can be defined by user.
If a file is saved or read, or if text modules are processed, a method in this adapter class is called.
The developer don't have to care about, how it works.
He still has to define, how to handle the incoming parameters.

The method for saving looks like:

  // is called, when a page is written
  public boolean writeFileData(String path, String html)

{

    try {

      // write the file in file system or in a database

      writeFile(path,html);

      return true;

    } catch(Exception e) {

      return false;

    }

  }

The editor will not disappear while calling the adapter !

Please refer to the manual to see all of the methods callable by the client.

Open/Save Dialog functions

In extended mode you open and save files from server by using dialogs:

Text module functions

To make editing of documents more simple the user can specify his own html snippets and insert them at cursor position.
The text modules are saved on server side.
